Kempinski

The most extraordinary luxury hotels in Dubai.

My carefully selected hotel portraits on the historic Creek, in the city center, on the Palm Jumeirah or on the beach have already shown you how unique the hotel scene in Dubai is:

The legendary Burj Al Arab – the crowning glory of the luxury hotel industry

The oriental The Palace Downtown – the palace hotel in the Arab style

The extravagant Palazzo Versace – the symbol of Versace’s glamorous lifestyle

The exclusive One & Only The Palm – the elegant boutique resort in Moorish style

This unique and first-class luxury hotel industry proudly continues in my other hotel portraits. This month I will present you more jewels, starting with the Emerald Palace Kempinski, also called Kempinski Hotel & Residences Palm Jumeirah.

Located on the western Palm Jumeirah trunk, the Kempinski offers direct access to the main Sheikh Zayed Road. Therefore, I recommend only the rooms and suites with a view of the skyline. The view of the Arabian Gulf offers a picturesque sunset, but also quite a bit of traffic noise due to the road.

The elegant lobby exudes tremendous pomp and pageantry. The individual corridors are also breathtakingly beautiful.

The spacious rooms and suites with views of the skyline are gorgeous. Our Suite 142 scores not only with an oversized terrace, but also with Italian style elements. Be sure to check out the pictures in the slideshow: they are a dream!

Unfortunately, the culinary experience leaves much to be desired, as does the clothing: if a wrinkled bathing suit and a grubby muscle shirt are part of a sporty, elegant outfit, as the All’Onda envisages, then I won’t write anything more! Furthermore, the service was a disaster and the volume of the music an imposition – both in the All’ Onda and in the VillaMoré. I would like to explicitly point out here that we dined in the VillaMoré at about 4.00pm, which is known for “DJ sets with trendy music” from sunset. Conclusion: food and service a single drama, the view at All’Onda a successful panorama!

The grandiose breakfast buffet at Le Jardin tastes excellent!

We did not test the restaurants Matagi and Mix Tapas under the direction of the world-renowned star chef Alain Ducasse due to time constraints.

We did not visit the spa or the indoor pool due to lack of time either. We only looked at the well-attended pool area and preferred to relax on the 500-meter-long private beach.
