Al Maha

Luxury hotels in the Great Arabian Desert

Luxury and wellness in the desert are no longer opposites: on the contrary, the Al Maha and the Qasr Al Sarab by Anantara are examples of true luxury pearls and noble oases of peace in the sand. Thanks to the Bedouin feeling at the very highest level, you can relax from the hustle and bustle of the megacity Dubai or Abu Dhabi and experience a fascinating antipole to the glittering city life.

The exclusive Al Maha in Bedouin style is located in the midst of a unique desert landscape in the 225 square kilometer Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve and offers a luxurious stay surrounded by unique flora and fauna (shy gazelles, Arabian Oryx antelopes).

The 42 suites (stand-alone villas) with private pool and panoramic desert views are decorated in Arabian style. The smallest category, the Bedouin Suite, is perfectly adequate for a three-day stay and offers everything the rustic heart of a luxury world traveler prefers. Even the rare oryx antelopes love the private outdoor pool and stop by for a drink from time to time.

All suites / villas score high on the generous outdoor space.

Those who want to reside particularly luxuriously should book the Presidential Suite. Unfortunately, it was occupied at our time.

In the stylish fine dining restaurant Al Diwaan, your palate will enjoy both Arabic and Mediterranean dishes. On the Hajar terrace your eyes will enjoy the endless expanse of the desert.

Wellness and relaxation are also perfect. The large pool and the Timeless Spa with sauna, steam bath and whirlpool offer an oasis of well-being. Furthermore, you can work out in the fitness center.

Finally, the resort offers a versatile desert program. The camel safari and a falcon show are among the classic desert adventures. Of course, you will experience the camel ride in a luxurious way.

Did you know that the camels can march through the desert for eighteen hours without taking a break and manage to survive without water for at least ten days and still give out low-fat milk rich in vitamin C on the tenth day? Furthermore, these miracle animals can regulate their body temperature independently: at night they cool their bodies down to 34 degrees Celsius and during the day their temperature averages 42 degrees.
